Dr. Theeshan Bahorun is Professor of Applied Biochemistry at the ANDI Centre of Excellence for Biomedical and Biomaterials Research, University of Mauritius and holds a National Research Chair appointed by the Mauritius Research Council. Dr Bahorun’s academic and research interests are focused on promoting public health nutrition and disease prevention, bioactive components of dietary/plant based factors (phytoceuticals), oxidative stress mechanisms, molecular nutrition, antioxidant pharmacology, pharmaceutical indications of antioxidant functional foods and prophylactic agents, cardioprotective, neuroprotective and chemopreventive strategies, clinical research, pathophysiological mechanisms in diabetes, cancer and cardiovascular dysfunctions. Dr Bahorun serves as the President of the Society for Free Radical Research Africa (SFRR-Africa), Vice President of the International Association of Medical and Biomedical Researchers (IAMBR) and Deputy Editor in Chief of the International online journal “Internet Journal of Medical Update. Dr Bahorun is a member of the Editorial Board for ISRN Toxicology, Free Radicals and Antioxidants Journal, the World Journal of Biological Chemistry and Associate Editor for the Asian Journal of Microbiology, Biotechnology and Environmental Science. Dr Farombi’s research interests are on cellular and molecular toxicology, chemical carcinogenesis, gastrointestinal pathology, antioxidant redox biochemistry, nutraceuticals and chemopreventive phytochemicals as prophylactic agents, nutrigenomics as well as natural product biotechnology. Dr Farombi is currently the Vice-President of the Society for Free Radical Research Africa, Editor-in-chief of Toxicology Report (official journal of West African Society of Toxicology), Chairman Editorial board, Archives of Basic and Applied Medicine. Dr Farombi is the Editor of the book titled “Nutritional Antioxidants in Cancer and Degenerative Diseases. Dr Farombi is the supervisor of the most outstanding Doctoral (Ph.D) Thesis in Basic Medical Sciences in Nigerian Universities in the 2008/2009 assessment of Thesis by the National University Commission of Nigeria. Dr Tangman research is focused on probabilistic and statistical learning techniques in science, engineering and finance with groundwork in quantitative finance (which applies tools of stochastic analysis to price derivative contracts which are essential risk-management instruments) and in the area of computational finance for making the connection between exponential time integration from the field of electromagnetism to fast time integration in option pricing.
